CIRCLE IMPACT 2023
PROTECT OUR PLAYGROUND
Approximately 80% of the clothes we own are not worn and the average wardrobe contains 414€ worth of unused clothing. On top of that, less than 1% of discarded garments are recycled, contributing to an unsustainable cycle of waste. A single performance t-shirt, for instance, embarks on an astonishing journey, traveling up to 60,000 kilometers from production to the consumer's closet, leaving a significant environmental footprint. To top it all off alarming predictions suggest that by 2050, there may be more plastic than fish in our oceans, underscoring the urgent need for change in the way we produce, consume, and recycle clothing.
It is time to recognize that small steps towards sustainability are no longer sufficient. We must aim higher and adopt a systemic approach where circularity plays a key role.
